Dr. Abdul Jabbar, F.M.B.S. (Lko), born in Bareilly in 1937, is the visionary founder of Durveshi Dawakhana. His life’s mission has been to bring authentic, affordable Unani medicine to those who need it most.
With deep roots in traditional healing and modern medical education, he devoted his career to serving rural India where quality healthcare was scarce.

Dr. Abdul Jabbar authored several medical books in simple language to educate rural practitioners and patients.
Most of these books were written under oil-lamp light due to lack of electricity in Dang village.
The “Up-To-Date Treatment Guide” became the most popular among his publications. It was published in multiple editions in Hindi and Urdu and received many awards.
These books benefitted thousands of rural medical practitioners, as evidenced by letters received from across the country.
Dr. Abdul Jabbar established Durveshi Dawakhana as a herbal pharmacy to manufacture Unani and Ayurvedic preparations with a focus on purity, research, and effectiveness.
His vision continues today, serving humanity through Unani medicine.
